I often make kiridashis from high-quality remnants of larger knives.
Also functional as a small, sharp letter and package opener
Kiridashi in photos: *Hand-forged utility knife *Pattern-welded, layered Damascus made using various layers of steel *54n20 and 1045 high carbon steels *Easy to carry, with hole for convenient attachment *Laminate blue-paper Hitachi steel in core of cutting edge
Approx 3.5"l, 0.75"w, 0.2"h
Made to order in approximately 2-3 weeks; please allow some margin around this time frame due to the nature of handmade custom work flow. Feel free to convo me for express order requests.
Special note for the variation with brass in the steel: After this blade was forged, brass was melted into the crevices/striations which are naturally found in pattern-welds. The brass is not part of the function of the blade (solely esthetic feature). Please convo me at the time of purchase if you would like this feature made similarly in your kiridashi.
